Service Update – Northumberland and Tyne & Wear areas.

From Sunday 26 September, we’re making some changes to services in the South East Northumberland and Tyne & Wear areas. 

 

Service 1 – Blyth to Ashington and Widdrington
From Sunday 26 September, the timetable has been revised to ensure a more robust and punctual service. As a result, this does mean that there has been a revision to the service timetables, however, frequencies will remain the same.

 

Service 2 – Blyth to Morpeth
From Sunday 26 September, this service will extend from Morpeth Bus Station to serve Kirkhill Estate in place of the withdrawn X16 service, proving a through service between Kirkhill and Blyth via Bedlington. As a result, timetables have been revised to ensure a more robust and punctual service, however, frequencies will remain the same.

 

Service 45 – Newcastle to Dinnington
From Sunday 26 September, the 0003 journey from Dinnington will operate 3 minutes earlier and extend to Regent Centre from Wideopen.

 

Service 53 – Cramlington to North Shields 
From Sunday 26 September, the timetable has been revised to ensure a more robust and punctual service. As a result, this does mean that there has been a revision to the service timetable, however, frequencies will remain the same. 

 

Service 54 – Newcastle to Whitley Bay 
From Sunday 26 September, the timetable has been revised to ensure a more robust and punctual service. As a result, this does mean that there has been a revision to the service timetables, however, frequencies will remain the same.

 

306 / 308 – Newcastle to Whitley Bay and Blyth
From Sunday 26 September, timetables have been revised to ensure a more robust and punctual service, especially around peak times in to and out of Newcastle.  As a result, this does mean that there has been a revision to the service timetables, however, basic frequencies will remain the same.

 

Service 553 – Regent Centre to Battle Hill via Freeman Hospital
From Monday 27 September, the timetable has been revised to ensure a more robust and punctual service, based on real-time operating data. As a result, this does mean that there is a revision to the service timetable, particularly at peak times. 

 

Service X6 – Newcastle to Cobalt
From Monday 27 September, regrettably, this service will be withdrawn. Links between Newcastle and Cobalt are still provided by Stagecoach and Go North East.

 

Service X7 – Blyth to Newcastle 
From Sunday 26 September, evening and Sunday journeys will operate 2 minutes later between Blyth and Newcastle.  

 

Service X8 – Blyth to Newcastle 
From Sunday 26 September, evening and Sunday journeys will operate 2 minutes later between Blyth and Newcastle.  

 

Service X14 – Newcastle to Morpeth and Thropton
From Sunday 26 September, the timetable has been revised to ensure a more robust and punctual service, based on real-time operating data. As a result, this does mean that there is a revision to the service timetable. Additionally, with the withdrawal of service X16, service X14 along with the X15 and X18 have been revised at peak times to allow a 20-minute service between Morpeth and Newcastle. To ensure this coordination, some journeys may be required to wait slightly longer in Morpeth. 

 

Service X15 – Newcastle to Morpeth, Alnwick and Berwick
From Sunday 26 September, the timetable has been revised to ensure a more robust and punctual service, based on real-time operating data. As a result, this does mean that there is a revision to the service timetable. Additionally, with the withdrawal of service X16, service X15 along with the X14 and X18 have been revised at peak times to allow a 20-minute service between Morpeth and Newcastle. To ensure this coordination, some journeys may be required to wait slightly longer in Morpeth or Alnwick

 

Service X16 – Newcastle to Morpeth and Kirkhill
From Sunday 26 September, this service will be withdrawn. Links between Morpeth and Kirkhill will be maintained by revised service 2 which will operate as a through service from Blyth and Bedlington up to every 30 minutes, this will mean any passengers wishing to travel been Kirkhill and Newcastle, will be required to change buses at Morpeth Bus Station onto Services X14, X15 and X18 which will continue to operate up to every 20 minutes between Morpeth and Newcastle.

 

Service X18 – Newcastle to Morpeth, Alnwick and Berwick

As a result, this does mean that there is a revision to the service timetable. Additionally, with the withdrawal of service X16, service X18 along with the X14 and X15 have been revised at peak times to allow a 20-minute service between Morpeth and Newcastle. To ensure this coordination, some journeys may be required to wait slightly longer in Morpeth or Alnwick

 

Service X30 – Newcastle to Blyth and Bebside
From Monday 27th September, the following journeys will only operate on school days.

  • 0608 Bebside to Newcastle
  • 1633 Newcastle to Bebside

 

Service X85 – Newcastle to Hexham
From Monday 27 September, regrettably, this service will be withdrawn. Links between Newcastle and Hexham are still provided by our Cross Pennine 685 service
