Kids go free North East

This half term, families can enjoy great days out for less with Arriva North East’s Kids Go Free offer.

From Saturday 23 May to Sunday 31 May 2026, up to three children aged 11 and under can travel free on any Arriva North East bus service, all day, every day, when accompanied by a fare-paying adult or an adult with a valid travel pass*.

Affordable Family Travel
Adults can also take advantage of low fares across the region:

• Tyne and Wear: travel for no more than £2.50
• Tees Valley: travel for no more than £3.00

Whitby
Take the X93 from Middlesbrough and enjoy one of England’s most spectacular coastal bus routes, calling at Middlesbrough, Guisborough, Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay and Scarborough. Whitby offers something for all ages, from beach fun to fascinating attractions including the Whitby Lobster Hatchery, Whitby Abbey and Pannett Park.

Whitley Bay
Catch the 306 or 308 from Newcastle for a classic seaside day out. Visit the iconic St Mary’s Lighthouse, explore the rock pools at low tide, or enjoy food and sea views at Spanish City.

Saltburn-by-the-Sea
Hop on the X4 for a relaxing trip to Saltburn. Enjoy the historic Saltburn Cliff Lift, take a walk along Saltburn Pier, explore Saltburn Valley Gardens and enjoy fish and chips with stunning sea views.
