November service changes in the Darlington and Stockton Areas

Today Tue 20th Oct 2026

Following a review of services supported by Durham County Council, we will be introducing the following changes from Sunday 1 November 2026.

Service 8 – Darlington to Spennymoor
An additional evening journey will run from Spennymoor to Darlington at 1907 Mondays to Fridays and 1857 on Saturdays. These journeys are provided with the support of Durham County Council

Service 56 – Durham to Bishop Auckland Tindale Crescent
With support from Durham County Council the 1855 and 1955 journeys from Durham that currently terminate at Ferryhill will now continue through to Tindale Crescent, there will be later journeys from Tindale Crescent at 2020 running through to Durham and a 2120 departure from Tindale Crescent to Ferryhill. These journeys offer replacement travel opportunities for the withdrawn service 35A operated at present by Hodgsons, as well as providing later journeys from Tindale Crescent with its shopping and leisure opportunities.

Service 56A – Ferryhill Evening Town Service
This Durham County Council supported service will be withdrawn owing to very low customer use. Service 56 journeys provide replacement journey opportunities.
