Service Improvements in the Tees Valley

Following a review of service punctuality, we are introducing the following changes from Sunday 20 July with improved services for the Teesside Park area.
Service 8 – Middlesbrough to Netherfields
To further improve service punctuality, timetable changes will be made to weekday early morning journeys. Additionally, Sunday daytime journeys will operate 5 minutes later than at present.
Service 9 Middlesbrough to Overfields
Sunday daytime journeys will be revised to operate 5 minutes later than present in both directions.
A later journey between Overfields and Middlesbrough will also operate, departing Ovefields at 1833 on weekdays and 1828 on a Saturday.
Service 16 Middlesbrough – Teesside Park – Ingleby Barwick
Since starting in January 2024, Service 16 has become a really popular service with customers, so we're working in collaboration with Teesside Park, and we’re excited to be introducing further improvements to this service, by adding a Mon-Sat evening service, connecting the park until late.
These additional journeys will benefit customers who wish to visit the park later on a evening to see a film, get something to eat or even shop late!
Journeys will operate hourly across the full route until late Monday to Saturday evenings, serving the shops as usual, but also the Showcase Cinema stop on the leisure park giving you direct access to Ninja Warrior and Hollywood Bowl.
Sunday daytime journeys will also be revised to additionally serve the stop at Showcase Cinema, with a small timetable revision to allow for this.
Services 17/17A/17B – Middlesbrough to Stockton via Thornaby
Due to the introduction of new Service 16 evening journeys, current Service 17 early evening journeys will be revised to operate as Service 17A instead and will continue to provide a link between Middlesbrough, Linthorpe, Acklam and Thornaby Centre, but also to introduce new later journey opportunies for users in the Thorntree Road, Lanehouse Road and Thornaby Road areas.
Links to Cunningham Drive and Ingleby Barwick will continue, and will be provided by new late Service 16 journeys instead.
This addition will increase the number of buses per hour in the early evening between Middlesbrough and Thornaby Centre to 2 per hour.
Service 64A Middlesbrough to Flatts Lane
Most Service 64A journeys will be extended to terminate at the Flatts Lane Centre, in order to provide a link to the new housing development in the area.
Some peak time journeys are revised as a result.
