Route Changes to Service X30
Warrington to Chester
Due to the major maintenance scheme that is currently underway on the A56 Chester Road Arriva will be implementing a route change to service X30 from 1st December 2024.
These road works have significantly impacted the X30 service and have led to widespread operational challenges with punctuality falling far below the standards required. We are now in a position that we must implement a service change to improve punctuality.
From Chester the service will operate as normal route until Halton Lea, the service will then operate along the busway through Palacefields, Brookvale, Murdishaw, Windmill Hill Ave, Pitts Heath Lane, Wharford Lane, New Moore Lane, Calmington Lane, Runcorn Rd, before re-joining the A56 Chester Road and continuing to Warrington. The service will operate the reverse of this in the Warrington to Chester direction.
This route change means that the bus stops between Premier Inn Runcorn and Sci Tech Daresbury including Preston Brook will no longer be served by the X30. These stops will be continued to be served by the 200 service which operates every 60-65 minutes, customers can use the 200 to connect in Murdishaw Monday-Friday with the X30, 1, 2, 79C, 82A, and 110 Arriva services to Warrington, Runcorn, Widnes & Liverpool.
Journeys will continue to call into Sci-Tech Daresbury at busiest times.
- From Warrington buses will arrive into Sci-tech at 09:01 and 16:36.
- From Chester buses will arrive into Sci-Tech at 08:19 and 16:53.
We will continue to monitor this service and will review the route in line with changes to the road works.
