Northfleet changes June 2025

From 1 June 2025, we’ll be making some changes to our bus network in and around Northfleet to ensure it better reflects how our customers are using our services.

We’ve carefully reviewed passenger numbers, travel patterns and demand to shape a network that works more efficiently for the majority of our customers.

Here’s a summary of the upcoming changes:

•    Service 190 – Timetable changes, including revised Saturday and school holiday frequencies.
•    Service 414 – Revised afternoon school-day peak service and the withdrawal of the last Saturday departure from Dartford.
•    Service 477 – The section between Dartford and Bluewater, and Orpington to Orpington Station, will no longer operate. These parts of the route are being withdrawn due to very low usage. We’re sorry for the inconvenience this may cause — it’s not a decision we’ve taken lightly.
•    Service 480 – Saturday frequency will change to every 15 minutes. Sunday services will operate every 20 minutes. During school holidays, the frequency will match Saturdays (every 15 minutes).
•    Service 481 – Evening services will be removed. This decision has been made due to low passenger numbers in the evenings.
•    Service 482 – Some evening journeys will be withdrawn. These specific trips have had very few passengers, making them unsustainable to continue.
•    Service 483 – Sunday frequency will reduce to every 60 minutes. The route will no longer serve Morrisons and Ebbsfleet, instead rerouting via Springhead Park and Ebbsfleet Green. The withdrawn parts of the route have seen very limited usage. We understand this may be disappointing.
•    Service 489 – This service will be withdrawn. Sadly, the 489 has not had enough customers to justify continuing it. We’re very sorry to those who will be affected and appreciate this may be frustrating.
•    Service 490/491 – Additional evening journeys will be added to the 491. Sunday frequency will move to every 20 minutes. Non-school frequencies will align with Saturdays (every 15 minutes).
•    Service 497 – This service will be withdrawn. Passenger numbers on the 497 have remained very low, and we’ve had to take the difficult decision to end the service.
