New Buses to Darlington Fleet
Arriva Buses shows commitment to Northeast with a £3 million pound investment in new Euro 6 Low Emission buses
The wheels on fourteen new Euro 6 Low Emission Arriva buses are travelling around the roads of Darlington. The new buses represent an investment of over £3 million pounds from Arriva and feature Free Wi-Fi and USB charging ports to help enhance on board passenger experience.
To celebrate their arrival, Arriva will be holding a launch event on Sunday 20th November at the Christmas Lights Switch on in Darlington Market Square from 4pm this weekend to give our customers the chance to jump on board these new additions to the fleet. One of the new buses has been decorated with a festive themed livery, and the Arriva team will be on-hand with festive games, the chance to make your own Christmas Cards and offering the opportunity to send personalised letters to Santa.
Kim Purcell, Arriva Northeast Commercial Director said “We are delighted to be able to commit such a strong level of investment into our bus network in Darlington. We recognise public transport as one of the keyways to help protect our environment for the future and save our planet! That is why we are proud to be introducing fourteen ultra-low emission vehicles into our fleet. The new buses also show our commitment in working with the Tees Valley Enhanced bus Partnership.”
Cllr Jonathan Dulston, leader of Darlington Borough Council “I am pleased to see this level of investment in Darlington by Arriva, bringing new, low-emission vehicles to our roads. “So many people rely on the bus network to get to school, work and personal appointments and a reliable service is vital. I look forward to continuing to work with Arriva to get the best possible service for everyone.”
