Durham Bus Station January 2024

We have been advised by Durham County Council that the new bus station in Durham is expected to reopen from Sunday the 7th of January.

As a result of this, all services that are currently departing from Durham North Road/ Milburngate which previously operated from the bus station will once again depart from the bus station.

To tie in with the new bus station opening, we will also be making some slight changes to several services to accommodate the new stand allocations and assist in the removal of stand clashes between services.

Service 6: Monday to Friday journeys between 1700 and 1800 from Durham slightly retimed.
Service 24: 2100 Mon to Fri from Hartlepool retimed to 2055.
Service 43: Adjusted timetable Monday - Saturday to accommodate new stand within Durham Bus Station
Service 49: Slight adjustment to running times to assist in stand availability. Service X12: Slight adjustment to AM/ PM peak journeys towards Newcastle to assist in stand availability.
Service 64: will continue to service North Road, along with peak time journeys to Framwellgate Moor on services 6 and X46, however the stand location will change.

Services heading towards Neville's Cross or X12s to Newcastle will no longer need to operate via Milburngate and now will be able to turn left out of the bus station.
