Changes to your bus services in Leicester
29th August 2023
We’ve listened to customer feedback and carefully reviewed our network and, from 29th August, we’ll be making changes to your services across Leicester. For more information on how these changes will affect you, please see below.
Service X3/X31
We're making some changes to the timetable to help keep buses on time and to provide a more coordinated service between Leicester and Market Harborough.
In Kibworth buses will now call at Brookfield Way on New Road rather than the Cemetery, so if you’re travelling towards Market Harborough you no longer have to cross the busy main road to reach the bus stop.
Service 5/5A/X5
Our regular timetable will return at the end of the summer holidays. Buses to Twinlakes Park will return in summer 2024.
Service 6/6A
We're making a small change to the route of these services in Thurmaston. Buses will run along Melton Road through Thurmaston Village, rather than along the bypass, to better connect the Village and Asda.
Service 31/31A/31E/X31
To improve punctuality and offer quicker connections within Oadby and to and from Leicester City Centre we're making changes to our Oadby services.
Service 31 will continue to run clockwise around the Oadby Estates, running directly along Uplands Road. This means Service 31 will no longer serve Copse Close and Launde Way. These stops will instead be served between 9.30am and 2.30pm Monday to Saturday by service 31A. Leicestershire County Council are working to install new bus stops where needed.
Service 31A will run anti-clockwise around the Oadby Estates, directly along Ash Tree Road rather than around Coombe Rise – if you’re catching the bus from Coombe Rise and Ridge Way please continue to use Service 31.

Service X45
We've worked with GLP to extend this service to Magna Park South, providing a fast bus from/to Leicester at shift times, seven days a week.
Service 50/51
We've reviewed our services along Narborough Road and through Braunstone so there will be more buses, more often on the busiest parts of the route.
The services will continue to run up to every 10 minutes along Narborough Road Monday to Saturday daytimes and up to every 30 minutes on Sundays. Plus, we'll be improving evening connections to and from Fosse Park with Service 50 now running up to every 30 minutes. The times of buses from Fosse Park back to the City Centre will also change thanks to feedback from our customers.
Service 51 will stop running slightly earlier in the evenings, however the enhanced Service 50 will continue to serve Narborough Road every 30 minutes, Service 104 will continue to operate every 60 minutes in the evenings connecting the City Centre with Braunstone and Service 148/158 will keep running every 60 minutes in the evening between the City Centre and Braunstone Crossroads.
