Changes to your bus services in Aylesbury

From 7th January 2024

As part of our ambition to simplify Aylesbury's interurban bus network to make the town a hub for exploring Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and the Chilterns, from 7th January 2024, we’ll be relaunching improved services across Buckinghamshire. For more information on how these changes will affect you, please see below.

All season tickets and their areas of validity will not change. Orbit, Oxford, and Aylesbury Plus tickets will be valid on the new X services in exactly the same way as they are on the current network of routes.

NEW Service X4

+

NEW Service X4 directly replaces service 150. There is no change to the timetable. Buses will depart from Bay 9 in Aylesbury bus station.

NEW Service X40

+

NEW Service X40 directly replaces service 250 and will continue to link Heath and Reach and Leighton Buzzard with Aylesbury High School at the same times it does currently.

NEW Service X5

+

NEW service X5 connects Aylesbury, Aston Clinton, Tring and Berkhamstead with Hemel Hempsted up to every 30 minutes.

Departure times from Aylesbury are now coordinated with other services to make transfers between routes simple, quick and easy.

All journeys will now follow the same route in Tring, meaning we'll no longer operate the twice-daily diversion along Station Road.

NEW Service X7/X8

+

NEW service X7 will operate between Aylesbury, Haddenham, Thame, Wheatley and Oxford up to every 30 minutes.

NEW service X8 will operate between Thame and Oxford, taking a quicker route along the A40 into Oxford, also up to every 30 minutes. Together, routes X7 & X8 offer four buses an hour between Thame and Oxford and coordinate to run up to every 15 minutes between Sandhills and Oxford city centre.

We're doubling the number of buses on route X7 on Sundays, enhancing the frequency to every 30 minutes between Oxford and Thame. We’re also adding an additional later evening service, leaving at 11pm on Monday to Saturday.

Following our customer feedback, we’ve completed a top-down review of our timetable to help improve our timekeeping. We've also retimed journeys to better serve scholars at Aylesbury High, Sir Henry Floyd and Lord Williams's Schools.
