Changes to Southend services

From 4 January 2026 we’ll be making changes to some of our services in Southend to improve punctuality and provide better connections for customers using our buses.

Service 1 - We're updating our timetable to help services run on time. Service 1 will now run:

• Monday - Friday: Up to every 12 minutes.
• Saturday: Up to every 15 minutes.
• Sunday: Up to every 30 minutes.

The timetable for Service 1 will be available soon.

Service 2 - We're updating our timetable to improve punctuality. There will be no change to service frequency.

The timetable for Service 2 will be available soon.

Service 6 - will be withdrawn and replaced by Service 29. 

Services 7 and 8 - We're reinstating the link from Landwick and Great Wakering to Southend Hospital, offering better access and convenience for local customers. The services will be diverted at Shoeburyness Asda to Landwick and Great Wakering. Services will now run:

• Monday - Friday: Up to every 20 minutes.
• Saturday: Up to every 30 minutes.
• Sunday: Up to every 30 minutes to Shoeburyness Renown.

Timetables for Services 7 and 8 will be available soon.

Service 9 - Service 9A between Shoeburyness Asda and Great Wakering and Landwick will be withdrawn. This section of the service will be replaced by services 7 and 8. Service 9 will continue to run to Shoeburyness East Beach. Services will run:

• Monday - Friday: Up to every 20 minutes.
• Saturday: Up to every 20 minutes.
• Sunday: Up to every 30 minutes.

The timetable for Service 9 will be available soon.

Service 29 - Service 29 will be extended to Garon Park, replacing service 6. This change will provide direct connections to Garon Park and Southend Hospital via Fairfax Drive. Services will run:

• Monday - Saturday: Up to every 30 minutes.
• Services will operate hourly on Sundays

All services via Shoeburyness Asda will operate to Southend up to every 5 minutes Monday - Friday and up to every 8 minutes on Saturdays.
