Changes to Leicestershire’s bus services
From 16 April 2023
On Sunday 16th April 2023, Arriva is making changes to some of the services in Leicestershire.
26/26A Leicester to Ratby and Coalville
We're making some small changes to the timetable to help keep buses running on time, as well as introducing a route change in Groby. Buses will now run directly along Ratby Road stopping outside and opposite the allotments, and will no longer serve Stephenson Way, Lawnwood Road and Woodbank Road.
All journeys will now be numbered 26. Sadly, we’re not able to continue serving the VF Warehouse at Bardon as there wasn’t enough customers to cover the cost of running the bus.
We're making changes to the timetable to help keep buses running on time.
29/29A/29B/X29 Leicester to Swadlincote
We're making a number of changes to the timetable to help keep buses running on time, as well as introducing a route change in Markfield. Route 29 will continue to run around Chitterman Way, London Road and Main Street as usual, with route 29A now running directly along Leicester Road between the Cemetary and The Queen's Head.
Sadly, route X29 will not be able to continue serving the VF Warehouse at Bardon as there wasn’t enough customers to cover the cost of running the bus.
As part of the Leicester Buses Partnership we’ve worked with First Bus to introduce a more coordinated timetable for buses between Thurnby Lodge and the City Centre. The 37 is the new route number for the 53, and together with route 38/38A will give a bus up to every 5 minutes along Humberstone Road to Thurnby Lodge.
Buses will now leave from Haymarket Bus Station, Stand HE, and will continue to call at Humberstone Gate on their way to/from Thurnby Lodge.
You can view the complete timetable showing both routes 37 and 38/38A here
Leicester Flexi tickets continue to be accepted across both bus companies as normal within the Leicester Flexi area

We're making changes to the timetable to help keep buses running on time, as well as introducing some changes to the route.
In Knighton buses will run along Northcote Road towards Wigston, and Knighton Road towards the City Centre.
In West Knighton all journeys of routes 44 and 44A will now run along Cairnsford Road, Lamborne Road and Hylion Road in both directions, giving a bus up to every 15 minutes in these areas.
In Wigston route 44A will no longer run past the former Nautical William pub and around West Avenue, with buses now running directly along Aylestone Lane to head into Wigston Magna.
Route 44A will no longer run on Sundays. Instead route 44 will be running to South Wigston.

We're pleased to be increasing the frequency of these services, with buses now running up to every 12 minutes through the day. Route 47 will run up to every 10 minutes during the morning peak between South Wigston, along Saffron Lane into Leicester city centre.
