A bigger and better Derby bus network

We’ll be making some exciting changes to bring a new service, extend some routes and add more journeys.

1A/1B/1C Derby to Alvaston and Boulton 
Early morning journeys on service 1B that currently start from Boulton Moor will now start from Newgate Close.

There are no other changes to the route or timetable.

2/2A Derby to Melbourne and Swadlicote or Chellaston 
Service 2 will now run via Bateman Street and Derby Rail Station, opening up better connections for onward travel from Swadlincote, Melbourne, and Chellaston.

Service 2A will continue to call at The Spot for customers shopping in the City Centre.

5/5A/5S Derby to Littleover 
We've worked in partnership with Derby City Council to increase the frequency of this service as part of the council's Bus Service Improvement Plan.

Routes 5 and 5A will both now run up to every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday, and hourly on Sundays,

Sunday service 5S is replaced by an improved hourly frequency on route 5, 5A, and 6.

6/7 Derby to Sunnyhill and Sinfin 
Our popular 6 service will now run every hour on Sundays, replacing service 5S.

Together, services 6 and 7 will give a bus every 30 minutes between the City Centre, Sunny Hill, and Sinfin on Sundays.

20/21 Derby to Chaddesden  and Spondon
We're introducing a brand new bus service for Spondon, delivered in partnership with Derby City Council through the council's Bus Service Improvement Plan.

Our existing service 20 will now run every hour, extending beyond the current Roosevelt Avenue terminus to serve Spondon Asda, Sandringham Drive and Sancroft Road - connecting these areas with local shops and Medical Centre in Spondon village centre, as well as a direct bus into the City Centre.

New service 21 will also run every hour, following the same route out of the City to Roosevelt Avenue and then continuing on to serve Spondon Asda, Arnhem Terrace and Willwocroft Road - meaning these areas also get a new link to the local shops and Medical Centre in Spondon village centre, as well as a direct bus into Derby.

Together routes 20 and 21 will give a coordinated 30-minute frequency between Spondon Asda, Roosevelt Avenue, and the City Centre.

26 Derby to Oakwood 
Service 26 will now run every 30 minutes, giving a coordinated 15-minute frequency with services 20 and 21 between Chaddesden Cemetery and the City Centre.

Buses will now run in a clockwise loop of Oakwood, going go straight over at Wayfaring Road shops, past the Leisure Centre, and around Springwood Drive, Smalley Drive, Saundersfoot Way, Springwood Drive, Bishops Drive, and Danebridge Crescent back to the shops.

38 Derby to Sinfin 
We're increasing the frequency of this popular route, with buses now running up to every 10 minutes.

On Schoolday mornings some journeys will be numbered 38S, running from Osmaston Road and St Thomas Road directly to the City of Derby Academy in Sinfin.

X38 Derby – Burton
Our X38 Adult Day and X38 Child Day tickets will no longer be available.  Day, Week, 4-Week, and longer period season tickets for our Derby zone are already valid through to Burton, giving unlimited travel across all of our services in and around Derby including route X38.

There are no changes to the route or timetable of this service.
