Gillingham is a town located in the Medway unitary authority in Kent, England. It's part of the wider Medway Towns area, which includes other towns such as Chatham, Rochester, and Strood. Gillingham has a rich history that dates back to medieval times, though it became more prominent during the industrial revolution, especially with the development of the dockyards along the River Medway.
