Revisions to Derby’s services from 31st October 2026

From Saturday 31 October 2026, we’re making several revisions to your bus routes and timetables across Derby and the surrounding area.

These are designed to match your services with how you travel, help get you to where you need to be on time and provide better connections where possible.

What’s changing?

Services 1A, 1B & 1C Derby Bus Station to Alvaston – more frequent journeys

You’ll have more evenly spaced journeys between London Road, Derby Railway Station and Derby City Centre, with a new timetable designed to provide better connections along this popular corridor.

Service 1B will also be extended via Broadacre Way, serving the next stage of the Boulton Moor and Snelsmoor Grange development.

In the evenings, services 1A and 1C will run at revised frequencies to better match demand.

Service 2 Derby to Swadlincote – revised Saturday timetable

Service 2 will have a new Saturday timetable, helping us better match services to demand and help get you to where you need to be on time.

You’ll continue to have hourly buses if you’re travelling to or from Swarkestone, Stanton by Bridge, Melbourne, Ticknall, Hartshorne, Woodville or Swadlincote.

If you’re travelling between Chellaston Fields and Infinity Park Way/West Chellaston, you’ll also have an hourly service, with both areas served by the same bus.

Between Chellaston shops, Allenton and Derby City Centre, you’ll benefit from up to five buses an hour across services 2 and 2A. There is no change to route or frequency for service 2A.

There will also be minor timetable changes on weekdays and Sundays.

Service 4 Derby to Alvaston – improved punctuality

Timetables will be refreshed to help get you where you need to be on time.

Services 5 & 5A Derby to Royal Derby Hospital – improved punctuality

Timetables will be refreshed to help get you where you need to be on time.

Service 8 Derby to Mackworth – revised evening frequency

There will be a minor revision to your timetable on Monday to Saturday evenings.

Service 20 Derby to Spondon – timetable changes

There will be minor timetable improvements to help your route run more reliably.

Some journeys will also change to better match demand, including an earlier Sunday evening finish.

Services 22 & 24 Derby to Oakwood – improved punctuality

Minor timetable changes will help get you where you need to be on time. Some journeys will also be adjusted to better match demand.

Service 26 Derby to Oakwood – revised Sunday frequency

From Monday to Saturday, your timetable will be adjusted to help get you where you need to be on time.

On Sundays, your route will now run at a revised frequency to better match demand.

Service X38 Derby to Burton upon Trent – more opportunities between Derby and Burton

You’ll have more evenly spaced trips between Burton and Derby, with a new timetable designed to provide better connections along this popular corridor. 

Additionally, the improved timetable will also better compliment Royal Derby Hospital shift times, making it easier to plan your journey if you work at or visit the hospital.
