Service Changes in Tees Valley and North Yorkshire
Today
From Sunday 30 August 2026, a number of timetable changes will be introduced across Tees Valley and North Yorkshire.
Most changes are minor and are designed to improve punctuality and reliability, while a range of significant enhancements will also be introduced on the popular X4/X4A services, providing additional early morning and evening journeys.
Service 62 – Middlesbrough to Redcar
- Early Monday to Friday afternoon journeys will depart up to 5 minutes later to improve punctuality.
Service 63 – Middlesbrough to Redcar
- A revised Monday to Friday afternoon timetable will be introduced to improve reliability and help reduce delays caused by increasing traffic congestion.
Service 64 – Middlesbrough to Grangetown
- Early Monday to Friday afternoon journeys will depart up to 5 minutes later to improve punctuality.
Service 65 – Middlesbrough to Lingdale
- Early Monday to Friday afternoon journeys will depart up to 5 minutes later.
- These changes will provide pupils at Laurence Jackson School with additional time to reach the bus stop for the 15:00 journey towards Middlesbrough.
Services X4/X4A – Middlesbrough, Loftus and Whitby
A number of improvements will be introduced to provide more travel opportunities and better connectivity:
- Additional early morning journeys from Whitby will operate Monday to Saturday.
- A new 19:10 journey from Middlesbrough to Loftus and Whitby will operate Monday to Saturday.
- The current 21:40 Monday to Saturday journey from Middlesbrough to Easington will be extended to Whitby.
- The current 22:19 Monday to Saturday journey from Loftus (departing Whitby at 21:43) will be extended to Middlesbrough.
- On Sundays, a new later evening journey will depart Whitby at 20:43, arrive in Loftus at 21:18, and continue to Middlesbrough, arriving at 22:35.
