On the banks of the River Mersey, this picturesque village is a stones throw away from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to the west and Widnes to the north-east. Famous for the Hale Head Lighthouse and for being the birthplace of John Middleton in 1578, the so called “Child of Hale” was famous for being over 9ft tall!
