Diversion on the X12 - Newcastle Tyne Bridge

24th Oct 2026 - 1st Nov 2026

As part of the Tyne Bridge restoration scheme being carried out by Newcastle City Council, the bridge is to be closed during the Half Term holidays for all traffic in both directions.

As a result of this, service X12 will be required to divert Northbound towards Newcastle. From Gateshead interchange, the service will operate direct to Eldon Square and not serve the stops on John Dobson Street.
Journeys towards Durham and Middlesbrough will operate as normal from Newcastle.

Customers are advised that some localised delays maybe encountered due to the diversion in place.
