Service revisions in Shrewsbury
Today
From Saturday 29 August, several bus services in Shrewsbury will have revised timetables to improve reliability, particularly in response to increased traffic in the town centre, with some route and frequency changes due to passenger demand.
Key updates include the removal of the Woodcote Way section on service 1, revised timings for services 11, 17, 24/25 and X10, additional coverage of Royal Shrewsbury Hospital by service 11, reduced Friday frequency on service 11, and the withdrawal of some low-use X10 journeys.
The ST1–ST4 Shrewsbury Town FC services will be withdrawn following the end of their contract.
Separately, Shropshire Council will introduce further changes to several contracted bus services from 1 September and to the Shrewsbury Park & Ride from 1 November, with enquiries to be directed to the Council.
See full details below:
1 Shrewsbury to Monkmoor
Improvements have been made to the timetable to help keep buses running on time, particularly through Shrewsbury Town Centre where traffic levels have increased following the changes to the gyratory system.
Buses will also no longer serve Woodcote Way due to low usage. Customers who would previously use stops along Woodcote Way are instead directed to the stop at Monkmoor Hotel (opposite the Police Station) to catch service 1
11 Shrewsbury to Gains Park
Improvements have been made to the timetable to help services run on time.
Buses will also serve the entire perimeter of Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, via the Treatment Centre and Evolution Road.
There is no change to frequency on Monday to Thursday, with service 11 remaining every 15 minutes. However, due to lower usage, buses will operate every 20 minutes on Fridays.
17 Shrewsbury to Sutton Farm
The current 15:35 journey will now operate at 15:55 Monday to Friday and will now include Shrewsbury Business Park at 16:08 – this will replace the current X10 journey that operates at 16:13.
The current 16:35 journey will now operate at 16:45 Monday to Friday as a result of the above change.
There is no change to the current Saturday timetable.
24 & 25 Shrewsbury to Harlescott Tesco
Improvements have been made to the timetable to help keep buses running on time, particularly allowing more time in the Castlefields area due to the increase in traffic caused by the changes to the gyratory system.
There are changes to frequency at peak time, where services 24 & 25 will combine to provide a 20 minute frequency between Shrewsbury and Harlescott to improve reliability in the service.
ST1 – ST4 Shrewsbury Town FC services
These services will be withdrawn following the end of the contract with Shrewsbury Town FC
X10 Shrewsbury to Telford

Some morning short journeys to Emstrey Island have been removed due to low usage.
