Regent Centre Interchange redevelopment works from 23 July 2026

From Thursday 23rd July until Sunday 30th August, Regent Centre Interchange will operate under temporary restrictions whilst modernization works are carried out to the entrance of the Metro Station, which also includes the removal of the canopy over the road.

As a result of the above works, all services which serve the interchange will be required to make temporary alternative arrangements within the area. To reduce the volume of buses within the station, only Northbound services will continue to serve the interchange, whilst using a temporary stop closer to the entrance.

All Southbound services will remain on the Great North Road, and use stops within the Bus Lane just after the Christon Road junction.

Service 553 which terminates at Regent Centre will continue to serve the interchange to drop off passengers, however passengers wising to board will be required to use the stops outside on the Great North Road. Buses will return to normal route on Monday 31st August.
