Updates to our services in Milton Keynes August 26

Today Tue 21st Jul 2026

From 30 August 2026 we’ll be updating our Milton Keynes bus network with a range of route, timetable and reliability improvements based on customer feedback.

Key changes include splitting services 2 and 2A to better distinguish Poets Estate journeys, introducing new circular 3 and 3A routes with improved coverage of Glebe Farm, Eagle Farm, Magna Park and Amazon plus extended shift-worker trips, and restoring service 5 to Mount Farm.

A new 6A replaces the X6 through Fairfields, while services 7 and 7S will now serve Conniburrow and Bradwell Common.

Several services (4/4S, Loop, X2/X3 and X14) will have timetable changes to improve reliability, with some additional stop changes and earlier journeys.

The X6 is rerouted to connect Bletchley and Buckingham but will no longer serve Stony Stratford, Old Stratford, Granborough or North Marston, while the X15 is withdrawn due to low demand, with alternative services available for affected passengers.

We'll add links to the new timetables below once they're available but you can find out more details of the changes below:

2/2A Newport Pagnell to Grange Farm

Following customer feedback, we're making it easier to identify which bus serves the Poets Estate. Service 2 will continue to be the bus for journeys serving the Poets Estate, journeys which run straight along Wolverton Road will be renumbered 2A.

3/3A Milton Keynes to Eagle Farm

We're making some changes to service 3 in response to customer feedback.

There will be two routes, numbered 3 and 3A, each running a full one-way loop of Glebe Farm, Eagle Farm, Magna Park and Amazon in either direction.

Service 3 will run clockwise serving Crossley Way and Fen Street at Magna Park and then Amazon, Eagle Farm and Glebe Farm.

Service 3A will run anti clockwise serving Glebe Farm, Eagle Farm, Amazon and Magna Park. We're also introducing an extension to and from Wolverton and Stony Stratford in the early morning and late evening to help shift workers get to and from work.

Services 3 and 3A will operate up to every 20 minutes on Monday to Friday and up to every 30 minutes at weekends.

4/4S Wolverton to Bletchley

We're making some small changes to the timetable to improve reliability and to help keep buses running on time.

5 Wolverton to Lakes Estate

Following customer requests, we're pleased to serve Mount Farm again!

Buses will run along Bond Avenue and Bletcham Way, between Milton Keynes Hospital and Bletchley. Services will continue to run up to every 20 minutes on Monday to Friday, and up to every 30 minutes on Saturday and Sunday.

Saxon Street and Stadium MK will continue be served frequently by services 6, 6A, X1, X2, X3, X14 and Loop providing fast journeys to and from Central Milton Keynes.

6/6A Wolverton to Lakes Estate

New service 6A will serve Fairfields up to every hour on Monday to Saturday, replacing service X6. The route of service 6 remains unchanged.

Together services 6 and 6A continue to run between Wolverton, Stony Stratford, Central Milton Keynes, Milton Keynes Hospital, Bletchley and Lakes Estate up to every 20 minutes Monday to Friday and up to every 30 minutes at weekends.

Loop South Milton Keynes circular

We're making some changes to the timetable to improve reliability and to help keep buses running on time. A small number of very lightly used journeys are withdrawn.

X1 Luton to Milton Keynes fast

X2/X3 Milton Keynes to Luton Airport

We're making some changes to the timetable to improve reliability and to help keep buses running on time.

Following customer feedback, a journey on service X2 will now also serve Stanbridge at 0750 and Tilsworth at 0755 to provide an earlier arrival into Dunstable and Luton.

Journeys towards Luton will now stop at bus stop L3 at Milton Keynes, The Point.

There will also be an earlier arrival on service X3 into Central Milton Keynes on Mondays to Fridays commencing from Leighton Buzzard Railway Station at 0619, arriving in to Milton Keynes at 0700

X6 Milton Keynes to Aylesbury

We're changing the route and timetable on service X6. From Milton Keynes it will run along Saxon Street past Stadium MK and then serving Bletchley Bus Station before continuing to Buckingham. We're pleased to be introducing a service between Bletchley and Buckingham following customer and stakeholder feedback. Stony Stratford and Old Stratford will no longer be served as sadly there just aren't enough customers from these areas using the service. Customers travelling between Fairfields and Milton Keynes should use service 6A. All journeys will run fast and direct between Buckingham and Aylesbury with Granborough and North Marston no longer served.

X14 Milton Keynes to Aylesbury fast

X15 Aylesbury to Milton Keynes

Service X14 continues to provide fast peak time journeys between Aylesbury and Milton Keynes. The timetable has been revised to improve reliability and help keep buses running on time. Bletchley Bus Station will no longer be served to provide a faster link into Central Milton Keynes. Due to very low usage the daytime journeys between Newton Leys and Central Milton Keynes will be withdrawn. Service X2 will continue to serve St Helena Avenue hourly offering quick links to Central Milton Keynes. Due to low usage service X15 will no longer operate, customers from Leighton Buzzard and Wing should use service X4 to and from Sir Henry Floyd School in Aylesbury.
