Improving our services in Milton Keynes
From 1 September 2024
From Sunday 1 September 2024, we’ll be making some changes to improve our services and keep buses running on time.
1/2/2A Newport Pagnell to Grange Farm
These services will now be consolidated into a simpler route 2.
Route 2 is extending to Green Park to provide a bus up to every 30 minutes between Green Park, Newport Pagnell, Milton Keynes and Grange Farm. Earlier and later journeys to/from Milton Keynes will be introduced. We'll continue to provide capacity and departures focused around the school day timings of Ousedale School, Hazeley Academy and Watling Academy.
Stops on Willen Road and Dansteed Way will no longer be served due to low usage. Consolidating all services into one, easier-to-understand service helps protect the commercial viability of the route, with the timetable designed to retain existing connectivity whilst building in customer feedback.
All evening and Sunday journeys will now be numbered 2. Later evening journeys will now run Monday to Saturday, with an additional last departure running around an hour later than current.

Buses will also now serve Burney Drive in its entirety between Glebe Farm and Eagle Farm. Both routes coordinate to run up to every 15 minutes towards the city centre.

4/4A Wolverton to Bletchley
We're introducing a new 4A service, which runs between Shenley Church End, Milton Keynes, and Bletchley. Route 4 will continue to run from Wolverton, taking a new route through Greenleys using Great Monk Street instead of Ardwell Street, then directly into Milton Keynes from Great Holm, along Portway. This offers a faster journey to/from Milton Keynes from Great Holm, Two Mile Ash, Greenleys and Wolverton.
Buses will no longer serve Bletchley rail station entrance, with buses stopping on Buckingham Road/Queensway, a very short walk from the entrance. A step-free route is also available. This helps us speed up journeys to and from Bletchley.
Together, routes 4 and 4A will continue to offer a frequency of up to every 15 minutes between Bletchley and Milton Keynes.

X4 Aylesbury to Milton Keynes
This route is receiving a radical makeover from September. In response to customer feedback, we're speeding up journeys and better connecting key destinations in Milton Keynes, Leighton Buzzard and Aylesbury.
Leaving Milton Keynes, buses will call at Milton Keynes Hospital, no longer serving Coffee Hall which will help speed up journeys. Following customer feedback, buses will now call at Stadium MK/MK One, IKEA , Rushmere Retail Park, and Bletchley interchange. The route continues through Fenny Stratford, close to the rail station, running directly to Heath and Reach.
In Leighton Buzzard, buses will leave the High Street and will travel along Billington Road to Sandhills, before heading to Aylesbury, doubling the number of buses per hour in this area of the town.
In Aylesbury, buses will now serve the Kingsbrook housing development, entering the town along Tring Road. We'll continue to offer journeys focused around the school days of Aylesbury Grammar Schools, and Sir Henry Floyd/Aylesbury College. Bierton continues to be served by other bus operators.
