Improvements to Milton Keynes’ bus services for 2025
From Sunday 5 January 2025 there’ll be some exciting improvements to the Milton Keynes bus network! These updates will provide customers with better connections across the city, ensure more timely service, and simplify boarding in the city centre. We’re also welcoming Fairfields back onto the city’s bus network, following customer requests.
We’re changing where buses stop in Milton Keynes city centre
Working with Milton Keynes City Council, we're consolidating stopping locations in Milton Keynes city centre to help simplify where customers can catch their bus. Buses heading to common destinations will now go from the same bus stops at Central Rail Station and The Point, boosting connectivity and offering passengers more choice.

Following customer feedback we’ll be making some minor timetable improvements to help keep our buses running on time.
3/3S Milton Keynes to Magna Park
3/3S Milton Keynes to Magna Park
We're extending route 3 to run through the heart of Manor View and Morton Park housing developments, using Elmswell Road. Buses will continue to Glebe Farm and Eagle Farm, ending their route at Magna Park (Amazon/H&M distribution centres). The service will serve Magna Park (Crossley Drive for John Lewis/Waitrose distribution centres) at key shift times. Buses will now run every 20 minutes, increasing connectivity to Kingston from Broughton and Brooklands. Route 3A will no longer run.

We’ll be making some minor timetable improvements to help keep our buses running on time. Buses that end their journey at Newton Leys will now continue around the development, finishing at St Helena Avenue.
7 Wolverton to Milton Keynes
We’re introducing an updated timetable to improve punctuality and adding extra evening journeys from Wolverton in response to customer feedback
8 Wavendon Gate to Westcroft and Oxley Park
8 Wavendon Gate to Westcroft and Oxley Park
We’re adding more departures during peak times to provide extra seating and enhance punctuality. This includes increased evening buses for nights out, plus double the Sunday service—now running every 30 minutes. Route 8A will no longer run and is being replaced by extra departures on a simpler route 8. During the evening, buses will run from Oxley Park to Snelshall East, then to Westcroft before heading to the city centre and Walnut Tree.
33/X33 Milton Keynes to Northampton
33/X33 Milton Keynes to Northampton
We've worked with Milton Keynes City Council, who contract this service to Arriva, to develop the route and timetable based on customer feedback. We're extending the school day-only journey on X33 to now stop closer to Radcliffe School, to better meet the needs of the school day. Buses will continue to serve Stantonbury Campus We've also retimed journeys to better link with Wooton Park School, as well as offering better arrivals and departures for commuters into Milton Keynes and Northampton.
F70/F77 Central Milton Keynes to Luton
F70/F77 Central Milton Keynes to Luton
We're making minor timetable adjustments to help keep buses running on time. Buses will return to a circular route of Milton Keynes city centre - running clockwise from Woughton Campus, Winterhill Retail Park, Milton Keynes Central rail station, The Point, and MK Hospital. An extra bus will run to Cedars Upper School in Leighton Buzzard (see CS1) on schooldays to help provide additional seats on buses. Together with routes X1 and X4, fast buses will run up to every 15 minutes from Milton Keynes, MK Hospital, Stadium MK and Bletchley.

We’re making small timetable adjustments to keep our buses running reliably and on time. To focus on our busiest routes, a few underused journeys through Mount Farm Industrial Estate will be discontinued.
X1 Milton Keynes to Luton
We've been encouraged by the positive feedback and growth of this new express route, so we're excited to bring even better connectivity. Coaches will now serve Fenny Stratford, Bletchley Interchange and Rushmere Retail Park. Fenny Lock will no longer be served. Together with routes X4 and F70/F77, fast buses will coordinate to run every 15 minutes between Milton Keynes, Hospital, Stadium MK and Bletchley There’ll be revised departure times from Luton Interchange to better coordinate with other town services.
X4 Milton Keynes to Aylesbury
We're making minor changes to the timetable to improve our timekeeping. The bus for Sir Henry Floyd Grammar school will now operate through Kingsbrook. Some lower-used journeys will no longer operate to help balance our cost of operation with the revenue received. This will help protect the long-term viability of this vital bus route.
X6 Aylesbury to Milton Keynes
We're extending the route to serve Fairfields, connecting this area to Milton Keynes, Buckingham and Aylesbury every hour, Monday to Saturdays. A bus will now run from Buckingham to Aylesbury at 15:50 to better meet the school day of Royal Latin School. Following customer requests, a new journey will run from Buckingham at 0527, arriving into Milton Keynes at 0615.
CS1 Luton to Cedars Upper School
CS1 Luton to Cedars Upper School
Our new CS1 service from Luton, Dunstable, Leighton Buzzard direct to Cedars Upper School is timed around the school day. This service is open to everyone and offers a cheap, reliable, and quick way for students and the general public to get to and from Cedars Upper School. Buses operate on school days only.
