Clatterbridge Glow Green Night Walk Liverpool

Arriva has partnered with Clatterbridge Cancer Charity and is their headline sponsor for its Glow Green Night Walk next month.

Hundreds of people are expected to walk an 8km route round Liverpool on Friday, February 2, 2024, which is World Cancer Day.

Landmarks in Liverpool will be lit up in green, including the Three Graces and St George’s Hall.

There will also be hundreds of lanterns lighting up the steps of the Metropolitan Cathedral.

Last year, more than 1,500 people did the sponsored walk, all dressed in glowing green, and it raised more than £160,000 for the charity.

Arriva will be helping on the night and providing bottles of water for the participants from a bus at the finish line at Museum of Liverpool.

And the bus operator’s dedicated Team Arriva will comprise 35 employees who are hoping to add to the charity total.

There are also a number of other Arriva employees who are walking with their families and friends.

Richard Hoare, area director for Arriva North West, said: “It’s great that many of our drivers and other colleagues are showing how much they care about this important charity by taking part in the event.

“We know many of our staff and customers have been affected by cancer, whether that’s personally or someone they know and love.

“As a bus operator we’re part of the community and we don’t just keep people moving every day, we strive to do the right thing because we really care passionately about the communities we serve.”

Anyone who’d like to back Team Arriva’s fundraising efforts for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity can donate money here.

There’s still time to take part in the Glow Green event and help the charity deliver pioneering cancer care to patients throughout the region.
