Wakefield District Service Changes

From Monday 31st October

We are making a number of changes to our services in Wakefield, Pontefract and the surrounding areas from Monday 31st October.

101 – Wakefield to Wrenthorpe

Minor changes will be made to the timetable of this service to improve the spacing of buses between Wakefield and Wrenthorpe. From this date buses will depart from stand 23 in Wakefield Bus Station.

102 – Lupset to Eastmoor

The route of this service will be changed in Eastmoor due to delays caused by buses meeting on Linton Road.

Service 102 will now operate in a clockwise direction around Eastmoor, providing a bus up to every 7 minutes when combined with service 104. From Park Lodge Lane buses will operate via Shepley Street, Greenwood Road, Woodhouse Road, Irwin Crescent, Queen Elizabeth Road, Windhill Road and Linton Road back to Park Lodge Lane.

103 – Wakefield to Stanley/ 41 Park

Minor changes will be made to the timetable of this service to improve the spacing of buses between Wakefield and Wrenthorpe. Some buses will leave Wakefield 2 minutes earlier than at present.

A new Monday to Saturday journey will be added to the timetable between Wakefield and Stanley, leaving Wakefield at 10:00.

From this date buses will depart from stand 23 in Wakefield Bus Station.

110 – Leeds – Wakefield – Kettlethorpe – Hall Green 

Some minor changes will be made to the timetable on weekday afternoons to help avoid delays around St Thomas à Becket School.

The current 14:52 journey from Kettlethorpe to Leeds will now start from St Thomas à Becket school during term times.

New Late Night Service!! – N10 – Leeds to Wakefield

This exciting new service will provide late journeys between Leeds city centre, Outwood and Wakefield on a Friday and Saturday night. For more details on fares and the route, please click here.

Buses will leave City Square at 00:00 and 01:15 and pick up on Boar Lane and at The Corn Exchange (for Call Lane). They will then pass Leeds Bus Station and run along the 110 route as far as Wakefield city centre.

We will also be providing a new late trip between Wakefield and Leeds, leaving Union Street (outside the bus station) at 00:35.

145 – Wakefield to Knottingley Common Lane

Evening service 145 will now be numbered 148A. This service operates a similar route to service 148 and also serves New Priory in Featherstone.

148/149 – Wakefield to Knottingley

Following a process of consultation with residents of New Sharlston and Sharlston Common, some changes will be made to the route of these services.

193/194 – Wakefield to Barnsley

Due to declining passenger numbers on the section of route between Ryhill and Barnsley, these services will be withdrawn.

Services 195 and 196 will be enhanced to provide buses up to every 15 minutes between Wakefield and New Crofton.

Evening journeys on service 194 will be replaced by hourly service 196 between Wakefield and Newstead only.

195/196 – Wakefield to Hemsworth and Newstead

A revised timetable will be introduced on these services.

Buses will continue to run up to every 15 minutes between Wakefield and New Crofton. Extra trips on service 195 will replace services 193 and 194 between these points.

Service 196 will be enhanced to provide extra commuter buses from Newstead to Wakefield on a weekday morning.

Evening journeys on service 194 will be replaced by hourly service 196 between Wakefield and Newstead only.

481 – Wakefield to Leeds

Minor changes will be made to the timetable of this service to improve the spacing of buses between Wakefield and Wrenthorpe. Most buses will leave Wakefield 2 minutes earlier than at present.
