From Saturday 17th February

Arriva Dewsbury

We are making a number of changes to our services in the Bradford, Calderdale and Kirklees areas from the weekend of Saturday 17th February. These will improve punctuality, better match capacity with demand and respond to requests we have received from customers in some places.

119/120 – Wakefield to Batley – from Monday 19th February

Minor changes will be made to the timetable, with buses generally operating 3 to 5 minutes earlier between Batley and Wakefield, in order to counteract extra traffic delays in the Thornes area.

These services will now depart from stand 4 in Wakefield bus station.

128/130 – Wakefield to Dewsbury – from Saturday 17th February

Minor changes will be made to the timetable to help improve reliability. Times will be amended at weekday peak times to reflect increased traffic congestion affecting certain journeys.

202/203 – Leeds to Dewsbury and Huddersfield – from Saturday 17th February

Minor changes will be made to the timetable to help improve service reliability in the Hunslet and Beeston areas.

Friday and Saturday night journeys leaving Leeds after 22:30 will be re-routed due to the closure of Call Lane at these times. Between Leeds Corn Exchange and Neville Street, buses will operate along Boar Lane and Mill Hill. They will not serve stops on Call Lane or Swinegate (Bibis Italian restaurant), but will instead call at stop T7 on Boar Lane.

205 – Dewsbury to Pudsey – from Saturday 17th February

Minor changes will be made to the timetable to help improve service reliability in the Gildersome area.

209 – Heckmondwike to Leeds – from Monday 19th February

From Monday 19th February, services leaving Leeds will pick up at stop T7 on Boar Lane. This service will no longer serve stop T8.

213 – Dewsbury to Batley from Saturday 17th February

Some major changes will be made to the timetable of this service to help improve reliability and better reflect the increased time required to serve Manor Way in Staincliffe.

223 – Mirfield to Leeds from Saturday 17th February

The Friday and Saturday night 22:30 journey from Leeds will be re-routed due to the closure of Call Lane at this time. Between Leeds Corn Exchange and Neville Street, buses will operate along Boar Lane and Mill Hill. They will not serve stops on Call Lane or Swinegate (Bibis Italian restaurant), but will instead call at stop T7 on Boar Lane.

229 – Huddersfield to Leeds – from Saturday 17th February

Some minor changes will be made to the timetable to help improve service reliability, particularly during weekday peak traffic periods, where increased congestion is causing delays to certain journeys.

From Monday 19th February, services leaving Leeds will pick up at stop T7 on Boar Lane. This service will no longer serve stop T8.

253 – Bradford to Dewsbury – from Saturday 17th February

Some minor changes will be made to the timetable of this service to help standardise journeys to run at more regular times on Monday to Saturday daytimes.

Following customer feedback, changes will be made to the timetable on Sundays to improve the spacing of buses between Bradford and East Bierley and between Mirfield and Dewsbury.

Minor changes will be made to the timetable to help improve service reliability in the Hightown area.

268/268A – Wakefield to Dewsbury and Bradford – from Saturday 17th February

Minor changes will be made to the timetable to help improve service reliability in the Odsal area.

278 – Dewsbury to Halifax – from Saturday 17th February

Following the end of service on Friday 16th February, this service will be withdrawn.

Over recent years the costs of operating this service have increased, whilst passenger numbers have decreased. This now means that it is no longer commercially sustainable to operate the service, despite various efforts to make it so.

Further information and details of replacement or alternative services can be found here.

Arriva would like to thank our customers for using service 278.

281 – Dewsbury to Birstall Fieldhead – from Saturday 17th February

The weekday 17:55 service from Batley to Dewsbury will be withdrawn.

At Birstall Retail Park, the terminus of evening and Sunday journeys will move to the stop outside Pizza Express

425/427 – Wakefield to Bradford – from Monday 19th February

Due to increased traffic congestion between Bradford and Morley, changes will be made to the afternoon timetable on weekdays to help improve service reliability.

The weekday 06:50 427 from Wakefield will operate one minute later throughout.

X29 – Heckmondwike to Leeds – from Monday 19th February

To counteract delays on the A62 and Leeds ring road, the route of this service will be revised.

After Gildersome Branch End, morning peak buses will now turn back along the A62 and join the M621 at junction 27 (Birstall Retail Park). Afternoon departures from Leeds will remain on the M621 to junction 27 and then pick up the current route at Gildersome Branch End.

Customers currently using service X29 between Branch End and Leeds Ring Road can use service 229 as an alternative. Please click here for more information.
