Start Date: 31/10/2016
Location: Wakefield District
Changes to the route of services 145, 148 and 149
During August we held consultation events with the local community in Crossley Street and Sharlston Common and received feedback from over 100 local residents.
We were seeking customer opinion on whether service 148 should stay on its current route, serving Crossley Street, or whether it should go back to the route from 2011 and serve Cow Lane following the re-opening of the road bridge to buses.
Whilst the results showed a preference to maintain a service in Crossley Street, it was clear how important the link between Sharlston Common and New Sharlston is and that many customers wanted us to reinstate this service.
As a result, we have identified a solution to restore the link and also maintain an every 20 minute service to Crossley Street from Wakefield. This will restore some of the missing links and avoid customers in Crossley Street being left without a service. It will also mean that there will be up to six buses per hour running from the area around Sharlston Church into Wakefield.

From this date, service 145 will also be renumbered 148A and will follow the same route as 148 between Wakefield and Featherstone.
Also look out for some freshly refurbished buses hitting these services in the coming months.
