Travelling around Huddersfield
Situated near the confluence of the River Colne and River Holme, on the edge of the Pennine Hills, Huddersfield is a large market town in West Yorkshire, close to Leeds and not far from Manchester.
Huddersfield – the birthplace of Harold Wilson and rugby league – is packed to the brim with Victorian architecture. Its railway station is a magnificent Grade I listed building.
Huddersfield has excellent road and rail links. Arriva bus services operate in the area, with routes into Leeds and nearby towns, such as Dewsbury, Birstall and Mirfield.
