Travelling around Barnsley
Barnsley is situated in South Yorkshire, halfway between Sheffield and Leeds. Lying at the edge of the Dearne Valley and surrounded by rolling countryside, there’s much more to this former coal-mining town than meets the eye. Dig a little deeper and you’ll find a rich vein of history, art and culture.
Barnsley has excellent road and rail links with easy access to the M1 motorway. Arriva buses operate in the area, providing routes in and around the town centre, as well as regular services to nearby towns and villages.
