Oosh these buses are 'bang tidy'!
This week we celebrated Catch the Bus Week in style with our 'bang tidy' MAX bus and lookalikes Keith Lemon and Patrick Stewart, who entertained the crowds on Briggate Street, encouranging people to snap bus selfies on board.
Both stars were chosen by the public when asked which celebrities people in Yorkshire would most like to spend a bus journey with.
As part of the celebrations we gave away half price m-tickets. Customers also entered into a competition to win an iPad, Kindle and headphones
Travelling by bus is not what it once was and has certainly evolved for the better, with many Arriva buses now having Wi-Fi freely available and e-leather seating. And with Arriva’s popular journey planner app, customers can plan their journey to the minute. The app detects the customer’s current position, presents a list of the nearest bus stops to choose from and enables the user to track their bus in real time and follow its progress on a map.
Catch The Bus Week is organised by sustainable transport group Greener Journeys, which urges all people to try and use the bus instead of their car for certain journeys. The benefits of bus travel are many, and include convenience, value for money and improving local air quality.
