Arriva in Yorkshire

25 March 15

On the 24th March Arriva Yorkshire launched a new concept in bus travel on the 202/203 route serving, Huddersfield, Mirfield, Dewsbury, White Rose Shopping Centre and Leeds. The 17 new state of the art buses launched on the route are branded as “Arriva MAX”, and  feature a fresh new exterior/interior, luxury leather seating with head rests, free WIFI, and the very latest in journey planning technology for all customers.  The buses are also fitted with satellite tracking to assist reliability.

The new concept in buses was launched by TITAN the robot at White Rose Centre in an event which was open to everyone. Titan also performed at a local school in Hanging Heaton (directly on the route) during the morning. The whole school were given free day tickets, MAX torches and fold up MAX buses. They also had a tour of the new MAX double-decker bus.

Nigel Featham, regional managing director for Arriva Yorkshire said “The Arriva MAX concept will lift the quality of the 202/203 service even further and enhance the journey experience for all customers.  With departures every 15 minutes, and with some weekly tickets working out at less than £2 per day, this service is a great way to get around.”

Nikki Appleton, Marketing Manager for White Rose Shopping Centre said: “It was great to meet TITAN the robot and host the 202/203 Arriva Max Launch. During the launch event over 2,500 free day tickets were handed out to our customers, hopefully encouraging more people to jump on board the new Max buses to the White Rose!”

TITAN the Robot added “It was great to meet the children of Hanging Heaton and the customers of the 202/203 route. We certainly took this Arriva bus launch to the MAX!”
