Catch The Bus Week 2015
Labour MP for Wakefield, Mary Creagh, joined Arriva Yorkshire last Friday to officially launch the start of the third annual Catch the Bus Week.
Running from 29th June to 5th July, Catch the Bus Week is an industry-wide initiative being supported by sustainable transport group Greener Journeys, which urges people to try using the bus instead of their car for certain journeys.
Waving our giant green hands at Wakefield Bus Station, we promoted the social, economic and environmental benefits of bus usage to passengers from across all walks of life.
Nigel Featham, regional managing director for Arriva Yorkshire, said: “Catch the Bus Week is a fantastic opportunity that helps celebrate all the benefits of bus travel. We are proud to support the campaign, and what better way to do this than by giving away free travel to encourage more customers to jump on board the bus this summer!”
To do its bit to boost the initiative Arriva also gave away free day saver tickets on social media throughout the course of the week; allowing more people than even before the chance to see for themselves just how easy, affordable and efficient bus travel can be.
