Fan-tache-tic result for Movember
Unusual facial hair became the norm among Arriva Yorkshire colleagues in November, as staff across the region came together for a month of moustache-growing. A large number of staff signed up and wore their moustaches with pride throughout the month.
Roger Bartlett, Operations Manager at Dewsbury depot said; “It’s a fun way of raising awareness of men’s health which is especially important as we know the topic is not one men talk about openly. As well as raising awareness we will also be raising money, and we hope all our passengers will show their support by saying hello to a moustached driver!”
Female colleagues at Arriva Head Office may not be able to join in with the moustache growing; but they’re certainly not left out. Arriva Yorkshires ‘Mo Sisters are getting involved by offering help and support to their colleagues. Women can play an important role in Movember, helping to break down barriers and encourage men to talk more about their health.
Matthew Ashton, Depot manager at Heckmondwike said: “As a company we are committed to supporting our staff in their efforts to lead a healthier lifestyle; it is fantastic that the staff are going out of their way to raise awareness and money for this fantastic cause.”
