Christmas comes early for Lucy
Arriva Yorkshire is spreading goodwill and cheer by granting a number of special Christmas wishes for its customers this December.
The first wish granted was Lucy’s, a volunteer at the Ackworth and Pontefract Contact the Elderly Group, who placed a wish on the Arriva tree asking to take the group out for a fabulous Christmas meal. They regularly meet at Farmer Copley’s Moo Café and this week Arriva surprised them there with their wish.
Lucy Etherington said “I’m so glad I placed a wish on the Christmas tree, and couldn’t believe my luck when I found out our wish was to be granted. The prize means so much to me, all the members of our group are thrilled to be winners.”
Nigel Featham, regional managing director for Arriva Yorkshire said: “What better way to start celebrating Christmas than spreading some cheer. We were delighted to be able to grant Lucy her wish, the group really appreciate her time and efforts. We hope they all have a lovely time.”
To say thank you for choosing to travel with Arriva this year, bus users visiting the Arriva Yorkshire website throughout December are being invited to leave their hopes for any gifts on the online virtual Christmas tree.
People are urged to post their wishes by logging on to www.arrivabus.co.uk/xmas or by visiting the Arriva Yorkshire Facebook page. Wishes to be granted will be selected by Arriva and the winners will be contacted by telephone or email each week of the competition.
