Arriva Yorkshire, remembering our forgotten heroes
Arriva Yorkshire has unveiled a specially-designed ‘Poppy Bus’ to mark Remembrance Day 2016. The ‘Poppy Bus’ will be running until Sunday 13th November along Arriva’s popular 202/203 route which serves Huddersfield, Mirfield, Dewsbury, White Rose Shopping Centre and Leeds.
The bespoke vehicle features giant poppies and dedicated artwork supporting the British Legion emblazed on the outside and the inside of the bus. Poppies will be made available to customers on board from Tuesday 1st November.
Here at Arriva yorkshire, we are proud to be supporting the Royal British Legion. The 1918 bus has been specifically chosen to commemorate the fallen and each vehicle on the 202/203 route will be displaying giant Poppy’s to further raise awareness for the cause. We would like to encourage our customers to hop on board the 202/203 Poppy Bus and support this great cause!
Neighbour, Community Fundraising Manager for the Royal British Legion said: ‘We are incredibly grateful to Arriva for their support of this year’s Poppy Appeal and for supporting Leeds Poppy Day. The Royal British Legion’s vital work is entirely dependent on the public’s generous support to help anyone who is currently serving in the British Armed Forces, veterans, and their families. The Legion uses your donations to support in so many ways including providing crisis grants, offering the children of Armed Forces personnel adventure breaks, researching the impact of blast injuries on the body, lobbying the government on key issues, and advising on benefits and money problems.’
Les Gaul, National Franchise Manager from Exterion Media said: “Everyone at Exterion is pleased to be supporting Arriva’s 202/203 Poppy Bus. We hope the dedicated artwork we have supplied will further increase awareness for the charity.”
