What are Student Saver tickets?
Our Student and Young Persons' Saver tickets are available to anyone up to the age of 19 or in full time education. All of the tickets are valid all day every day and offer unlimited travel on all Arriva services (except where stated) in the specified zones. This includes evenings, weekends and half-term holidays, so they're great for both work and play!

Day tickets
Buy a day ticket at a discounted student rate from your bus driver for all-day travel throughout your chosen region.
Weekly ticket
Weekly tickets provide value when you're planning a series of activities during the week and offer unlimited travel (except where stated). They can be bought online or on board.
4-Weekly ticket
4-Weekly tickets provide better value if you know you're going to be out and about regularly for al onger period and offer unlimited travel (except where stated). They can be bought online.
12-Weekly ticket
12-Weekly tickets are available in certain areas of the country only and give you unllimited travel in your selected zone. Buy them online.
15-week ticket
Whether its your Autumn or Spring semester, purchase a useful 15-week ticket online to be covered for your whole term. These tickets are available in selected ticket zones only and you can buy them online today.
Term tickets
In some areas we offer tickets that run from the first day of term to the last, so that's Autumn, Spring and Summer. In the North West you can also buy two-term tickets, and tickets that allow you to extend your travel into the summer holidays by one or two months.
Academic year ticket
Want to be sorted for the whole academic year? Then buy one of these. This ticket offers discounted unlimited travel for all your university semesters.
Annual ticket
For anyone staying at university to study/work over the holidays, this option provides discounted unlimited travel for the whole year.
How can I buy Student Saver tickets?
On the bus
You can buy Day and Weekly Scholar Saver tickets on the bus and pay with cash or a contactless credit/debit card. Just ask for a Scholar day or weekly ticket as you board.
Online
You can buy Day, Weekly, 12-Weekly, 15-Weekly, Termly, Academic Year and Annual Student Saver tickets online and pay by credit/debit card, PayPal or Direct Debit. You can choose to receive your ticket by post or as an m-ticket on the Arriva Bus UK app. Please be aware that Academic Year tickets paid for by Direct Debit are only available on Arriva Connect Smartcards.

Arriva Bus UK app
All Student and Young Persons' Saver tickets are available to buy via the Arriva Bus UK app, which is free to download. Your ticket will be ready to use as soon as you activate it within the app.
Direct Debit
Spread the cost of Annual tickets and pay monthly by Direct Debit. You choose when you want your payments to begin, and they will be taken on either the 1st or the 15th of the month.
Student Saver T&Cs in your region
North East
- If you buy a ticket that includes the Tyne Valley zone you will receive a paper Student and Young Persons' Saver ticket. This will allow you to use all journeys on Cross Pennine services 685 and X85 in the Tyne Valley zone, including the ones operated by Stagecoach. Please note that Arriva m-tickets and smartcards are not accepted on Stagecoach buses.
- If you need to use the Cross Pennine 685 to travel to/from places in Cumbria (including Brampton) you should buy a Regionwide Student and Young Persons' Saver ticket.
- Unfortunately, you cannot buy or use student saver tickets on any services operated by Glen Valley, Travelsure or Borders Buses.
Yorkshire
- You can travel during half term, weekends and evenings with any of the student saver tickets in Yorkshire, as well as during the day.
- Student tickets are available to purchase online or on bus (day and weekly tickets only, where applicable). A valid form of student ID is required to purchase on bus.
North West
Student tickets are valid 7 days a week until your chosen expiry date throughout our network in the North West.
Travelling on the 699 is a University of Liverpool student rite of passage but no matter which bus you choose, purchasing your exclusive Arriva bus pass from the Guild shop can save you up to £60!
Wales
Student term tickets are available for travel throughout our network in North Wales.
Check out mytravelpass - a scheme funded by the Welsh Government to provide discounted bus fares to young people. It provides people in Wales aged 16 to 21 with approx 1/3 off their bus fare.
Who can use mytravelpass?
Anyone living in Wales aged 16 to 21 can use mytravelpass. You should have a permanent address in Wales or attend full time education in Wales.
Only the person to whom the card is registered to and whose photograph appears on the card is able to use mytravelpass.
How do I apply for mytravelpass?
Online - You can apply for mytravelpass online here.
Post - you can print off a form from the website, fill it in, include a recent passport sized photograph and send it to: PO Box 52, Penrhyndeudraeth, LL49 0AU
Phone - you can call 0300 200 22 33 and be sent an application form in the post (which you can return in a Freepost envelope that is sent to you).
How do I buy a mytravelpass ticket?
You can buy a mytravelpass ticket on the Arriva website and app. mytravelpass tickets are available in the adult ticket section.
You can also purchase a mytravelpass Day or Weekly ticket on bus from your driver.
Midlands
Child term/annual tickets are available for pupils up to the age of 16 or year 11 in school. Student tickets are available for those aged 16 or above and are in full time education (student ID required).
Student Saver tickets are available in each region but not necessarily in each ticket zone. Prices quoted in promotional materials are based on the daily price for the most expensive Student Saver ticket available locally.
They are available for individual terms or for a whole year and can be bought using Direct Debit.
Beds and Bucks
Child term/annual tickets are available for pupils up to the age of 16 or year 11 in school. Student tickets are available for those aged 16 or above and are in full time education (student ID required).
Student Saver tickets are available in each region but not necessarily in each ticket zone. Prices quoted in promotional materials are based on the daily price for the most expensive Student Saver ticket available locally.

Herts and Essex
In Herts and Essex we offer Day, Weekly, 4-Weekly, Termly and Annual Student Saver tickets. You can buy online or on the Arriva UK Bus App, and a Direct Debit option is available if you want to spread the cost.
Kent and Surrey
Day, Weekly, 4-Weekly, Termly and Annual Student Saver tickets are available in many areas of Kent and Surrey. In some areas you can buy 12-Weekly or Academic Year Savers instead. We have many special deals with uninversities and colleges in Kent so check out at the student information services where you are to see what's on offer. You can pay by Direct Debit if you wish.
