MAX 229

Arriva Yorkshire has unveiled its latest MAX upgrade in Yorkshire to a host of local school children, with a little help from brand mascot Titan the robot.

To launch MAX route 229, pupils from Gildersome Primary School along with passers-by in Leeds City Centre were treated to an exciting performance by world famous Titan, whist being gifted with free MAX goodies and day tickets.

Titan entertained over 800 people as part the 229 launch, which links Huddersfield and Leeds via Heckmondwike and the Birstall Retail Park. The destinations will now be served by improved buses with stylish interiors, e-leather seat on-board, Wi-fi and smartphone charging points.

Nigel Featham, regional managing director for Arriva Yorkshire said: “The 229 MAX buses offer a great package of benefits for all passengers and will further enhance the journey experience for our customers. With departures up to every 15 minutes, and with some weekly tickets working out at less than £2 per day, this service is a great way to get around.”

Titan explained: “It was amazing to see the children at Gildersome Primary and the people of Leeds City Centre. We certainly took the launch to the MAX."
