Dewsbury drivers dress up for charity
Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice visited Arriva Yorkshire’s Dewsbury Depot in January to thank drivers Joanna and Mark, for raising an amazing £700 for the charity by dressing up in festive attire whilst on duty in the run-up to Christmas.
Sammie Loucas, Corporate Fundraiser at Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice said: “We would like to say a big thank you to Arriva Yorkshire and all of their generous customers who supported Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice over the winter period.
“It was great to see the drivers in their festive wear, it’s a lovely, light hearted way to get commuters into the holiday feeling whilst supporting their local children’s hospice. We must raise £3.8 million each year to continue our care and with just 6% of this coming from government funding, the support of our local community is vital.”
Anna Weeks, Depot Manager at Dewsbury added: "We are very proud of our drivers and customers who have gone that extra mile and helped raise this money for the local Hospice. Hopefully we can all beat this amount even more next year!"
Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice supports local children with life shortening conditions and their families across West Yorkshire.
