Upgrade for local buses
A £90,000 investment has resulted in the refurbishment of 11 Arriva buses running between Camberley and Guildford.
Passengers travelling on the 34 and 35 routes now have access to free WiFi and will benefit from eco-leather seats, as well as new livery in the company’s MAX brand, reserved for interurban express services.
Craig Taylor, marketing manager for Arriva, said: “The fleet really is looking very smart now and we were pleased to be able to show passengers first hand recently. We parked up in Woking for an afternoon so people were able to climb aboard and take a look at the facilities for themselves and we were very pleased with their reactions.
“The new seat covers are much easier to clean and maintain while the free WiFi means passengers can surf the web, catch up on social media or even do some work while they travel. We want people to consider taking the bus instead of always jumping in the car; we can’t take the traffic jams away but we can make your journey more productive.”
The 34 and 35 routes run between Guildford, Woking, Knaphill, Lightwater, Bagshot and Camberley. Using the free Arriva Bus App, which is available on iPhone and Android devices, passengers can track their bus in real time and plan their journey with information available on the next bus, the nearest bus stop and which bus to catch.
