Stormtroopers blitz Stretford Mall with potent weapon ‘Sapphire 263’
There’s no fooling around when it comes to taking the new Arriva Sapphire service 263 between Altrincham and Manchester City Centre
Look out for some familiar-looking figures patrolling Stretford Mall in Manchester on Friday April 1st. Seriously, this is no April Fool. They will be there to introduce the new Arriva Sapphire 263 service - a sparkling concept in bus travel which operates between Altrincham and Manchester city centre, calling at Broadheath, Sale, Stretford, Old Trafford and the University.
To mark the launch, Sapphire buses will be parked up for the day at Stretford Mall, guarded by our Stormtrooper lookalikes plus Alfie the Arriva mascot to give away information and goodies to shoppers and customers.
Sapphire buses offer customers a first-class journey experience. All vehicles are equipped with power points to charge phones and lap-tops, free WiFi, audio visual stop announcements and extra-comfy seating for customers.
Phil Cummins , area managing director for Arriva Manchester said: “We’re delighted to extend the Sapphire brand to the area. We’ve spoken to people who use buses regularly, occasional users and non-users and Sapphire is the result of our aim to deliver a better bus experience for everyone. They really do add a bit of sparkle to your everyday journey!”
