Golden Glory for Richard
Arriva Merseyside’s Richard Hoare, has been recognised for his exemplary management skills by a prestigious national industry awards scheme.
General manager at Arriva’s Bootle depot, Richard was presented with the ‘young manager of the year’ title at the 2014 UK Bus Awards last week, for his dedication to delivering strong and strategic leadership and mentoring to colleagues across Arriva’s Merseyside network.
Having been applauded as a consummate professional with a clear vision and a thorough understanding of the complex issues faced by the bus industry, Richard collected his accolade during a national ceremony at Hilton Hotel on Park Lane, London on 18th November.
Upon presenting the award, Chris Cheek, director of the UK Bus Awards, said: "Richard displayed a fascinating and varied range of skills and experience. His professionalism and enthusiasm greatly impressed the judges - I am sure he’s got a great future in our industry and we wish his every success in his career.”

The annual UK Bus Awards, now in their 19th year, are designed to recognise, celebrate and promote excellence and best practice throughout the UK bus industry.
During the ceremony, Arriva Merseyside also scooped a bronze award in the ‘top city operator’ category.
