Explore the benefits of travelling by bus with Arriva’s new X24 service!
Arriva North East is pleased to announce that the new X24 service will link Horden, Peterlee and Shotton Colliery with Durham from Monday 13th February 2017.
This service will provide a regular, quick link between these places on Mondays to Saturdays, replacing service 24X that only runs once on schooldays.
The X24 is great for commuting into Durham, as most buses serve the City Centre and Framwellgate Moor offering direct access to County Hall, University Hospital and New College. Buses will run along Blackhills Road and Northumberland Street in Horden (which are not currently served by Arriva), and will complete the journey from Peterlee to Durham in just 35-40 minutes. So, whether you are going to work, popping to the shops or catching up with friends, the X24 will get you there quickly, comfortably and reliably, six days a week.
Nick Knox, area managing director for Arriva North East said: “We are always exploring new opportunities and ways to improve the customer journey experience. We already run up to four buses per hour between Peterlee and Durham six days a week, this new express will give customers the opportunity to get there more quickly and conveniently. We hope further improvements in the area will encourage more people to hop on board”
There are some great value fares too! A one-way ticket from Horden, Peterlee or Shotton Colliery to Durham costs just £4.40, and you can enjoy unlimited travel on Arriva buses in County Durham for only £25 per week. Simply ask the driver for the best value ticket for your journey.
