New Website Positions Arriva as a Partner of Choice

Nick GordonArriva is positioning its UK Bus business as a “partner of choice” with the launch of a new website aimed at engaging local stakeholders groups.

The ‘Arriva Partners’ portal has been designed specifically to provide a targeted online presence for local authorities, PTEs, passenger groups and politicians, and deliver focused content that is relevant to existing and potential business contacts.

Featuring key updates on the company’s environmental, CSR and business to business activities, the website also features a blog, which includes staff contributions from across Arriva’s UK operations, from directorship to bus drivers, discussing issues that affect both Arriva and the wider industry.

Nick Gordon, Senior Marketing Communications Manager, explained: “Following the completion of a survey we had undertaken with 21 local authorities, we found that whilst Arriva’s operational performance was well regarded, our stakeholders wanted a greater level of engagement. Statistical analysis showed that the number of visits to the ‘News’ section of the website were quite low, perhaps because the UK Bus website is traditionally consumer focused, so we knew we had to explore other options to reach this vital audience.

“Arriva Partners aims to capitalise on potential partnership opportunities through implementing more targeted engagement online. People are able to sign-up to receive newsletters relevant to their specific region as well as for blog updates, and by monitoring uptake on this we will be able to  build up a bigger picture of who’s actually interested in what we’re talking about, whilst also informing the type of information we provide.

“This website is another example of how Arriva is leading the industry through its innovative approach to communications. It is allowing us to get our message out in channels that our competitors currently aren’t, which  will play a pivotal role in enabling us to meet our wider strategic goal of becoming the UK bus industry’s preferred ‘partner of choice’.”
