Passengers First for Arriva in Derby

New recruits at Arriva’s Derby depot on Ascot Drive have been put through their paces to ensure they are ready greet their public with the poise and patience that they would expect.

A team of new drivers who have joined the business and are soon to hit the road on routes across the city, have undergone rigorous training sessions in the art of customer care, to ensure that each and every passenger that hops on board enjoys the best experience possible.

Paul Richards from Arriva Midlands, explained: “Without our customers we have no business. Every passengers’ journey is important to us and I’m passionate about delivering good customer service to everyone, all of the time.

“We need to remember that every customer has different expectations and needs, so exploring those scenarios in a formal environment prepares our drivers for life on the road. I now feel confident that our new team will be able to deliver the excellent level of service that we pride ourselves on at Arriva.”

The full day course dealt with a number of significant topics, including emergency situations, and helping customers who are less able and need that extra assistance from the driver.
