Travelling around Ormskirk
The historic market town of Ormskirk is located in the heart of West Lancashire in the north-west of England. The fact that it is located just 13 miles from Liverpool, 11 miles from St Helens, 9 miles from Southport and 18 miles from Preston makes it an excellent base from which to tour this part of the world.
Ormskirk, however, is well worth visiting in its own right, with a vibrant and compact town centre which mixes high street names and independent traders with historic buildings and plenty of places to eat and drink.
It has excellent road and rail links to the wider region, with the A59 and A570 crossing the town north to south and east to west. Arriva buses run throughout Ormskirk itself and provide a convenient option for travelling on to Southport, Wigan and Liverpool.
