Travelling around Macclesfield
Art galleries, pretty independent shops and an excellent brass band are just some of the things that give Macclesfield its character. This pretty market town lies south of the Greater Manchester area and manages to give its big city neighbours a run for their money when it comes to great days out.
There’s plenty of history to keep both residents and visitors entertained, with museums, imposing halls and ancient churches in abundance. Great for fans of the outdoors, there are plenty of parks and woodland walks that make it a great location for families and dog owners.
Macclesfield is something of a commuter town for nearby Manchester with regular trains throughout the day. There are also links to London, Birmingham and a host of other cities. Arriva buses make getting around Macclesfield a doddle. Board a bus and travel to Manchester, Weston, Crewe and Upton Priory.
