Travelling around Earlestown
Earlestown is situated in the Metropolitan Borough of St Helens, Merseyside, and forms the western part of the desirable market town of Newton-le-Willows.
Earlestown has excellent road and rail links, with Manchester, Liverpool and Chester close by. Arriva bus services operate in the area, with routes to St. Helens, Leigh and Haydock.
Earlestown has a rich history, with the railways, sugar factory, glass making and engineering works all forming a significant part of its heritage. Earlestown Town Hall – an impressive Grade II listed building – was built in 1893 and remains very much a symbol of civic pride, despite being vacant for several years.
