Travelling around Aintree
Situated in the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton in Merseyside in the North West of England, Aintree is a large village on the outskirts of Liverpool. Best known for Aintree Racecourse, home of the Grand National, there’s much more to Aintree than meets the eye.
The village, which has two primary schools, five churches and several pubs, is also home to Aintree Equestrian Centre, Aintree Golf Centre and Aintree Shopping Park, which has numerous retail outlets, including B&Q, Marks & Spencer, Next and Pets at Home.
Aintreeis easily accessible by rail and road. Arriva buses operate in the area, with services to Crosby, Southport and Liverpool, as well as Bootle and Ormskirk.
