Arriva extends it's Merseyside Zone ticket to include Runcorn, Widnes and Warrington
Arriva reduces bus travel costs for residents in Runcorn, Widnes and Warrington
We are expanding the Merseyside Zone for multi-journey tickets, reducing the cost of travelling by bus in and around Halton and through to Warrington and Liverpool on services 7, 110 and X30.
In a bid to make traveling by bus more affordable for regular commuters, customers can now buy the new Merseyside Plus range of Day, Weekly, 4-Weekly* and Annual* tickets from 19th August. The new ticket will help those travelling on routes in Halton, extending into Warrington and the whole of Merseyside.
Customers traveling from Halton into Liverpool or Warrington will see a reduction in the cost of a weekly ticket from £18 to £15, while the day ticket will be reduced by £1.10.
For those customers travelling locally within the Halton area, there will also be a £1 weekly saving* and all tickets are available to purchase on-bus and via the company’s m-Ticket app.
Lisa Pearson, Head of Marketing commented: “Following the success of the reduced weekly ticket prices in Merseyside, we wanted to give more people in the North West the opportunity to travel by bus for less. We’re keen to make bus the first transport of choice in a bid to help reduce congestion and air pollution in our towns and cities, and we hope the reduced weekly fare will help more people do this.”
Earlier in March, we announced a reduction in the cost of our weekly tickets in Merseyside in a bid to encourage more people to travel by bus over summer. The success of the ticket has seen it extended to include more regions in the North West.
