Click is the answer for the socially isolated
Arriva Click in Liverpool is part of a pilot with a several local GP practice in south Liverpool, the heart of the Arriva click zone, Engaging with elderly patients through their Social Prescribing programme.
Working together with The Reader Org at Calderstones Park and the GP practices, The pilot involves inviting elderly people who are registered at the practices to attend their GP and be collected by an arriva click vehicle and taken straight to the door of Calderstones Mansion house and take part in shared reading activities amongst many others.
Social prescribing aims to combat social isolation and loneliness, by participating in activities provided by The Reader Org attendees will be able to interact with peers and have the opportunity to meet new people.
Social prescribing is a way of taking a holistic approach to people’s health and wellbeing. Connecting people to community groups and statutory services for practical and emotional support.
